New Features/Enhancements:

Platform

Introduced email and password login and sign-up options, including for Zea Sync.

Existing users who registered via the passwordless method can now set a password through the "Forgot password" option.

Rebranded Parts Hub and Illustrations Hub to Zea Parts and Zea Illustrations, respectively.

Improved caching to enhance the performance and stability of the Zea platform.

Zea Parts

Added customization for the text labels of the “Serial Number” and “Parts Number” search options.

Introduced a “Mailing Address” field to the shopping cart.

Changed PDF previews to open in a new tab instead of being downloaded directly.

3D Models

Updated the tree view and inspector to display the ‘occurrence’ node rather than the ‘reference’ node.

Local transforms are now displayed in the inspector instead of global transforms.

Simplified nodes in the tree from “reference(occurrence)” to “occurrence”.

The root assembly is now presented as a single node.

Restored the functionality to translate parts and assemblies temporarily while inspecting 3D Models, without affecting the models platform-wide.

Zea Illustrations

Implemented the ‘occurrence’ node changes mentioned above.

Desktop

Zea Sync is now available for download as a .ZIP file, which can be extracted and run without requiring administrative rights.

Addressed a bug that caused the "hide header" URL parameter to not work.

New Features/Enhancements:

Parts Hub

A new feature is now available for matching part numbers to CAD files by specifying a metadata field alongside the filename.

Non-sellable parts without sellable children can be hidden from the SBOM.

Platform

The platform now supports searching CAD files using metadata. Please note that existing files will need to be reprocessed using Zea Sync to extract the metadata.

Bug Fixes:

Parts Hub

Fixed an issue where searching for a serial number would take you back to the search page.

The problem of dashboard statistics not updating after syncing a parts list has been resolved.

When no matches are found in the SBOM search, a message indicating no results will now be displayed.

Resolved a problem where some part numbers didn't link to CAD files with corresponding file names.

Desktop

An issue has been fixed where changes to the up direction and tessellation precision were not promptly reflected.

Engine

Resolved an issue causing edges to render over surfaces when the view is zoomed out.

Fixed a translation value discrepancy in assemblies with different unit values than one of its parts.

Known Issue: Performance in Chrome for Mac

On some Macs, particularly older machines, our 3D engine runs slowly in Chrome. If you encounter this, try adjusting the setting below to see if it has a positive impact on performance. Go to chrome://flags and search for “angle”, then set the ANGLE backend to use Metal instead of OpenGL.

Change Notice: New role names for Organizations and Workspaces

With the move toward making our platform free for organization members to access models even without a paid seat, role naming has changed slightly.

Previously the “Editor” organization role signified a user holds a seat for Illustrations Hub and can create/edit illustrations.

Now,

Standard Users are non-admins/owners

Illustration Hub seats are assign to organization members as ‘Editors’

Note: Permissions based on this change should not impact most users, however, Organization Admins who need Illustrations Hub editing will need to assign themselves a seat.

Free Platform Users: a new role has been introduced to allow unlimited free view-only users (”Standard Users”) to join organizations to facilitate collaboration around model data.

Consolidated Organization & Workspace Settings: Settings are now centralized and can be access easily through a consolidated interface.

Known Issue: Zea Sync fails to update

Older installations of Zea Sync are failing to auto-update. Please manually update by downloading from the Workspace settings and installing over the existing installation. (No need to uninstall the older version).

Illustrations Hub

Dope Sheet (beta): A spreadsheet-like tool for managing modifications in Illustration Views..

Group Pivot Editor: Default pivots for groups can be modified manually or via snap to other part pivots.

Unique Icons for Overlays: Overlays now have icons to differentiate callouts vs shapes.

Selection Filtering: Users can now activate selection filters to only select assemblies, parts, or bodies in the 3D viewport.

Reset Materials: Action is re-introduced to reset all materials for a view.

A pause was addressed when loading assemblies in Workspaces containing large numbers of cad files.
