Building Volume is used to calculate the road or space allowing fire engines to approach the building and support the required weight for fire-fighting and life-saving purposes.
UKK 140 Access Requirements:
Width of two-way entrance road not less than 12 meters
Width of fire apparatus access not less than 6 meters
Distance from the edge of the access to the building no more than 2 meters
Fire apparatus access connected to the entrance road
Turning radius not less than 6 meters
Gradient not less than 1:12
Able to support a load of 25 tons
Dead-end access roads longer than 18 meters must have a turnaround area provided
