Applications
In this exercise, we are using:
Extensions: Forma-Revit Add-in. Objective
Students will learn how to conduct a pre-site analysis using Autodesk Forma by referring to the provided webcast and bridge the model with Autodesk Revit.
Webcast Review
Watch the assigned webcast carefully.
Take notes on key steps demonstrated for site setup, data integration, and analysis workflows in Autodesk Forma and Revit. Practical Workflow: The "Forma" Approach to LOD
LOD 100 (The Massing Stage) Action: Use the "Line Building" and "Basic Building" tools. LOI Captured: Total floor area, building footprint, and site coverage. Proposals: Rapid iteration. Students should create at least 1 new "Proposals" at LOD 100 to be exported to Revit. Handover to Revit: Export the optimized model to Revit using the Forma-Revit Add-in. Prepare the mass to be exported to Revit or AutoCAD.
Assessment & Quality Control
Visual Check: Does the massing respect the site boundaries? Metadata Check: Are the building functions correctly assigned (Retail/Residential)? Interference Check: Are the sun/wind goals met?
Submission
Capture the image of the 3D Model and Plans as well as Schedule exported to Revit (LOD 200) using screeshot and paste it in the Forma Board. Submit by sharing the project with by 22nd January 2026
(Those who submitted the links in the previous exercise do not have to do anything)
📊 Evaluation Criteria
Accuracy: Correct use of Autodesk Forma tools and data layers. Completeness: Coverage of all required analysis aspects. Clarity: Clear documentation with annotated visuals. Critical Thinking: Reflection on implications for design
