Students will learn how to conduct a pre-site analysis using Autodesk Forma by referring to the provided webcast. The exercise will strengthen their ability to integrate digital tools with architectural reasoning and contextual site understanding.

Webcast Review

Watch the assigned webcast carefully.

Take notes on key steps demonstrated for site setup, data integration, and analysis workflows in Autodesk Forma.

Project Setup in Autodesk Forma

Create a new project in Autodesk Forma.

Import or define the site boundary based on the sample location provided in the webcast.

Ensure the project is properly geolocated.

Data Collection

Use Autodesk Forma’s built-in tools to gather environmental and contextual data, including:

Topography

Climate and sun path

Analysis Tasks

Perform the following analyses:

Solar Exposure: Identify areas of high/low solar gain.

Documentation

Capture screenshots of each analysis layer.

Annotate findings directly in Autodesk Forma or export them into a presentation format (presentation board within Forma).
