Scenario
You have been appointed as the principal designer for the new Putrajaya Halfway House (PHH).
Client
The main client is Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM) or Malaysian Ministry of Health, yet the PHH will be run as a private institution based on a suitable halfway residence centre model that needs to be identified by the design team.
Facilities
The PHH supposed to be equipped with the basic facilities as a halfway house yet should provide a few extra facilities that reflect the recent and future need of a halfway house in Malaysia. The client is also open to any new fresh ideas that might improve the quality of the halfway house. In order to materalise this your team need to develop a to enable inclusive data collection and information sharing for this project. Emphasis Areas
Since the location is strategically located between the Putrajaya Sentral, Hospital Putrajaya and National Cancer Insitute (NCI) as well as to reflect the current development in the area; you are required to give some emphasis on the [1] connectivity and [2] sustainability in this project. The 2 areas identified need to be studied further from various design perspectives.
BIM
The client was also exposed to design development using Building Information Modelling (BIM) in the previous project (it should be noted that NCI was the first government building in Malaysia that developed using BIM); the client would like to see the design Level of (design) Development (LoD) to be based on the current standard of LoD as applied in BIM Standard.
Virtual Presentation
The client prefers virtual presentation to be developed for this project, this is to reduce the printing cost, which is part of their initiative towards sustainability and digitalisation.
