Industrial Training Coordinator (ITC)
Course Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course, students are expected to be able to:
CLO1: Produce a report on how an architect's or landscape architect’s or construction industry-related office is organized and operates CLO2: Produce a log book recording their experience in performing or completing given tasks CLO3: Perform as a staff and a team member in dealing with others in the industry Industrial Training Philosophy
Industrial training is provided to Architecture students as a partial requirement for obtaining their degree. Students are eligible to undertake industrial training once they have met the program requirements. During the industrial training period, students must adhere to the University’s rules and regulations, including insurance coverage. Objectives
To expose students to a real working environment. To provide opportunities for students to apply theoretical knowledge to actual tasks in a challenging environment. To enable organizations and government sectors to transfer relevant knowledge, skills, and experience to students. To prepare students to become a skilled professional workforce in the future. To foster intellectual growth and emotional maturity in students. To enhance the relationship between the university and respective organizations for mutual benefit. Assessment
Trainees will be assessed based on the following criteria:
Training in an Architecture/Landscape Architecture/Developer/Construction Industry-Related Company: Supervised by a Field Supervisor appointed by the company. Daily logging of work done throughout the duration. Weekly assessment by the Field Supervisor. Academic Supervisor’s Visit (Subject to SOP): Checking the progress of the report. Discussion with the Field Supervisor on the student’s progress, commitment, and recommendations for improvement. Preparation of Industry Training Report: Reflection on the training experience. Submission of Industry Training Report: Final submission of the comprehensive report documenting the training experience within 2 weeks upon the completion of the field training weeks.
