3. Element Measurements

Why measure elements?

The element’s area is used to calculate the severity of defects assigned to it.

Measurement Tools

There are four tools available under the Measure tab in the top menu:
Line – Measures distance between two points
Polyline – Measures the length of a broken line (e.g. perimeter)
Angle – Measures an angle using three points
Area – Calculates surface area

Select “Measure”
Select a tool
Click on the model with the left mouse button.
All measurements appear in the right panel. You can change units or delete previous measurements.
Notes:
Measurements are not saved in the system.
If needed, you must calculate area of the element manually and enter them into the element’s properties.

Adding Measurements to Element Properties

Go to the Home Tab in the bottom menu
Open the Element list
Find the element and click the pencil icon
You will see properties of the element.

Enter the data
Click Save
