The definition of the company code organizational unit is obligatory .
SAP recommends that new Company Codes be created by copying from the country standard, or a customer specific CoCd for the relevant country.
SAP has many different definitions for Dimension, specific to the various SA subsystems. In RTR the Dimension refers to what used to be Characteristics in COPA. For example Company Code, Product and Customer.

The First four digits of the Profit Centre will be equal to the Company code to which the Profit Centre belongs.
