Media Literacy is essential to society.

In the era of fake news and misinformation, we need to critically engage with media and technologies across all areas of our lives and be confident in our ability to make decisions about media use.

S1 E3 How to stay current in a 24/7 media world

The news cycle is endless, relentless, demands our attention and sometimes not being right up to date can have huge consequences. In the tsunami of news on our devices what should we do to get to the now? We look at how to stay right up to date without being overwhelmed by the constant news feed.

S1 E4 Who fact checks the fact checkers?

Rigorous fact checking is an essential tool to combat media misinformation. But who checks the fact checkers? Can we trust what seems to be verified? What trust markers can we look for as we consume media? We look at the facts about fact-checking.

S1 E5 Empowering students to tell their stories

Along with the many disadvantages of online media, one advantage stands out: anyone can be a creator. The tools to show what you know and do are in our hands, quite literally, but how do we make the post of them while navigating the hazards of life online?

S1 E6 What does it mean to think critically?

According to a recent McKinsey survey, ‘critical thinking’ is one of the key foundational skills that are needed in the future world of work. But is it an easily taught skill or is it an attitude? We look at the how we equip students with critical thinking skills to navigate the many forms of media they encounter.
