This work was undertaken wholeheartedly with our volunteer spirits. We intended to develop this initial work by ourselves to demonstrate its importance and our capabilities (and shortcomings), so that we can make a case for why we need support when applying for funds or grants.

What is this report about?
This report presents the first study on the repairability assessment for products of different categories in the Thai context, conducted by the Repair Community Thailand (RCTH). We called it “RCTH R-Score” or “R-Score” for short. Our work involves developing a repairability assessment framework and scoring criteria based on existing repairability initiatives and our expertise on circular design, while balancing them with our community’s current capabilities.
The objective of our work is to demonstrate the current difference in repairability across brands and the role of legislative pressure in improving the performance throughout the industry (even across regions). We hope that it will highlight the importance of having policies that promote repairability in Thailand, as well as the need to establish our own repairability assessment in the country to hold brands accountable for protecting consumers’ right to repair and to radically reduce the environmental impact from our economic activities.
