Relic Tips

Mechanics

Stats

Relics each have FAME, ART, FTH, CIV, and TECH stats (abbreviated to AFFCT), one of which is higher and the dominant trait for each relic.
Within your relic tab you'll see different tabs for each AFFCT type, and this is how your Relics will be sorted. This is important for a variety of reasons.
During explorations, you'll also come across AFFCT Checks, typically of one of the types.
For instance, in Koryeo you might come across an event that requires you to have 500 FTH. If you don't have 500 FTH, you can't complete the event. You'll also see this become important in fights.
Almost every enemy in the game has a weakness to one of the 5 AFFCT types, or of the entire AFFCT. If you can make this, you get extra RUSH DMG on that enemy.

Ranks

Relics are sorted and acquired by rank, which you'll notice a lot throughout the game.
After AFFCT, relics are further sorted by their rank: Orange > Purple > Blue > Green, Orange being the highest and Green being the lowest.
Purple relics are further categorized into A, AA, and AAA and Orange into S, SS, and SSS.
Each Relic also has a Tier, indicated by the number of stars. Green relics will always have a maximum of 3 stars, blue relics will have a maximum of 4 stars, purple relics have only 5 stars, and orange relics have 6 stars.

Tiers

When you first obtain a Relic, it's essentially dormant and does nothing for you.
First it needs to be activated, which costs B-tads. Green relics cost 1k, blue costs 3k, purple costs 5k, and orange costs 10k. Once activated, your relic is at Tier 1.
The only exception to this is Supreme Relics which, once obtained, are automatically at the maximum tier and can only be awakened to grow stronger.

Fragments

Fragments are crucial to upgrading relics. Each relic has its own fragment, and to upgrade it past tier 3 requires more of its own fragments.
Once a relic has been upgraded past tier 3, it requires its own fragments and spare fragments from other, fully upgraded relics.
Below is a list of the required materials to upgrade relics.

All Tiers

1★ → 2★ 35 green reagent
2★ → 3★ 60 green reagent

Blue Tier

3★ → 4★ 75 blue reagent, 10 blue fragments

Purple Tier

3★ → 4★ 100 blue reagent, 20 blue fragments
4★ → 5★: 100 purple reagent, 40 blue fragments, 40 purple fragments

Orange Tier

3★ → 4★ 120 blue reagent, 20 blue fragments
4★ → 5★: 175 purple reagent, 80 blue fragments, 80 purple fragments
5★ → 6★: 225 orange reagent, 120 blue fragments, 120 purple fragments, 120 orange fragments

Skills

At tier 4, Skills are unlocked for blue and higher relics.
Check out the images below to see what they look like.

When you go to the "Upgrade" screen of each Relic, you'll notice a series of fluid-filled tubes.
This is where the reagent goes, powering up the relic to the next level. While the first two tubes upgrade the AFFCT stats of the relic, the next three upgrade the skills, each tube upgrading one skill in order.
Blue relics have one skill, purple relics have two, and orange relics have all three.
When first activated, the skills are not active and provide no boosts. Once past T3, the stamps are at "skill up I" (blue), past T4 they are "skill up II" (purple), and past T5 they are "skill up III" (orange),
In this way, you can upgrade your skills a little even if you don't have fragments for that relic.

There are a set number of skills that work in specific ways:
Realm skills require the relic to be placed in that realm's museum in order to take effect in the realm.
Home resource skills require the relic to be embedded in that resource.
Gene sim and Snail Fight relics work likewise.
So a relic that has multiple different skills can only have one of those types active depending on where it is placed.

Embedding

Making sure you're embedding the right relics is crucial to progressing at a good pace.
Generally, the recommened priority for embedding relics is Compass > Home Resources > Museums > everything else.
Compass always comes first! Consider how high the relevant AFFCT value of the relic is, and any skills.
How good are the boosts? Sometimes it's better to lose skill benefits in favor of a higher AFFCT and sometimes the opposite is true.
Keep in mind the above info and try things out to see what works for you.

Awakening and Resonance

Once a blue or higher relic is at its maximum tier, there is an option to awaken the relic.
This will further boost the relics AFFCT and special stats, and also contribute to Resonance and Mirage fights.
The requirements for awakening are:
Blue: 100 blue fragments
Purple: 100 blue fragments, 300 purple fragments
Orange: 100 blue framgnets, 300 purple fragments, 900 orange fragments
Once awakened, that relic now contributes to resonance.
Resonance is an extra way to get boosts and awakening relics within a resonance set will unlock that boost.
For instance, awakening Code of Law and Commercial Code will give the extra buff: Snail HP +500. The higher the rank of the relic and the more relics in a set, the better the boosts.
Basically Resonance is pair of two or more awakened relics that can give bonus stats

Civilization Mirage

Civilization Mirages unlock at 150K Power.
Every orange relic has a Civilization Mirage, consisting of a series of fights which are unlocked at 3 and higher stars, depending on its rank.
S relics have fights at 3, 6 and awakened. SS relics have fights at 3, 5, 6, and awakened. SSS relics have fights at 3, 4, 5, 6, and awakened.
The awakened fight is always the relic itself.
The difficulties of these fights vary from relic to relic, but always gets harder the higher the tier.
Completing individual fights rewards a Gem of that AFFCT (TECH Gem +1 for example), and completing the entire mirage rewards 3 more Gems of that AFFCT and a unique reward relating to the relic.
Gems can be used at the Mirage Pedestal for more rewards.
See each individual relic page for its mirage fights, and note that every mirage fight has addition special stats of "HIT +80, Paralysis RES +80%."
If you get all 5 gems the same level, it can boost your overall self stats by +1% per level.

Upgrading

Alright so lets start from the beginning with upgrading.
As you know, for purple tier and up require fragments of already maxed up blue tier relics. To get ahead of the game here is what I recommend you do.
Ignore Green relics ENTIRELY. They eat up your reagents and aren't worth it.
Save 200+ Reagents on EVERY TIER unless you already have extra fragments to use up on relics.
ONLY upgrade relics from 1 Star to 3 Star, try not to keep 2 stars because you'll end up wasted your reagents by trying to keep it up. You'll be spending about 95 in total for 3 star relics.
Also keep in mind stats as well. Your goal is not to increase power per say but your strength and gains. If you have not gotten the last rocket piece, ignore minion stat relics except if they give bonuses to what you have already.
Same Idea goes for anything you dont have or aren't close to having, only upgrade what benefits you and your progress not just because you have it. (Unless its tech, thats a slight exception)
Focus mainly on maxing blue relics that you have 3 stared
Why? The more relics you have maxed out, the more fragments you can use on purple+ relics. It is key to hoard as many usable fragments as you can for purple and above.
If you run out of anymore useful blue relics, go to purple then likewise orange. Keep repeating the process and hoard the rest of your fragments and reagants to your next useful relic
Honestly ignore what is A,AA,AAA,S,SS,SSS. Some A relics perform better than AAA relics so it comes down to your best judgement

Here is an order from top to bottom of what I consider upgrading (This is somewhat different for everyone):

Progressive Self Stats: Follow stat order on #general-tips
Minions (If Rocket is near, ignore if not)
Any Travel, Cloning, DNA, etc Speed Boost
Currency (b-tad for example) gaining boosts
Any Pond Farm Bonus
Hard Self Stats: Follow stat order on #general-tips
Time Speedup Boosts
AFFCT Boosts
If you have not gotten mech, try to upgrade TECH relics first.

Embedding

As mentioned in the Mechanics portion of this guide, the order of your most powerful relics are:
Compass > Home Resources > Museums > everything else.
But that is always sometimes not the case.
You should be considering what the relic skill set is as well.
There are some skills that increase AFFCT, Farm Stats Gain and Cap, Self stats and etc
Not all high end relics have these skills tho so it your choose to basically go on what is good or not. If relics of choose give a bigger output boost than skills themselves it really isn't worth it.
THOUGH putting in relics with two or more skills catered to either the Home Farm or Museum is definitely a good exception to have.
When you embed a relic it'll show the skills in the list of relics you can put onto it, tap on those skills to see if the bonuses outweigh the output.

Awakening and Resonance

For awakening relics you can go based off of two details:
The Resonance Pairings
The Awakened Stats
Your Resonance will 80%-90% weigh out what the awakened stats are but incase you don't have any good pairing I would suggest but not recommend you go ahead with it.
If you choose to awaken not resonance ready relics, have double the awaken amount required ready to make it more worth it
Early game is recommended for you to start with Blue relics as the Purple+ Tiers require ALOT of fragments that we simply cannot provide ourselves at this stage.
You will not see any of the pairings until your first two relics are awakened so here is one pair that is encouraged to start with:
Travelers Manual + Seated Scribe
They give a hard stat of 50+ Atk which is good to start with to see a list.
When you start awakening relics, try to pair them with each other otherwise do what is suggested above.
While the seated scribe is not really worth it early early game until you get to domains where you require certain avatars, having a pair to a critically acclaimed relic like Travelers Manual which DOUBLES the intel gain is so much more worth to start.
For a suggestion on what exactly to focus your pairs on, stick to the order of upgrades from

Civilization Mirage

This one is actually fairly easy, you're overall goal is to hit that sweet spot with the Middle Gem Resonance as it gives a HARD boost to your overall stats AS A WHOLE. Its like a amp to everything you've done so far.
There isn't an order of what you need to do since power varies different but to get the most out of it, 3 star your S Tier Relics as they have much easier fights than SSS generally.
