Week 7 - Online Ground Control Points Arc Pro

This week, we authored and collected ground control points using ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Earth. The workflow focused on planning GCP locations ahead of time and then comparing those planned points to the locations recorded in the field.
In ArcGIS Online, a hosted feature layer was created specifically for GCP collection. This layer stored point locations along with basic attribute information and attached field photos.

After the maps were prepared, we collected the actual GCP locations in the field using GPS-enabled devices. Photos were attached to each point to document placement and surroundings.

Once back from the field, the collected points could be viewed and reviewed in ArcGIS Online, allowing for comparison between planned and recorded locations.
