This lab focused on working with map projections in ArcGIS Pro and examining how projection choice affects the appearance of the same geographic data. Minnesota county boundaries were used to create both a single projected map and a side-by-side comparison of multiple projections.
The first map presents Minnesota counties in a single statewide projection and includes standard cartographic elements such as a legend, north arrow, scale bar, and inset map. This layout emphasizes clarity and overall map composition.

The second layout compares three different projections—Albers, UTM Zone 15, and a custom Mercator—displayed at the same scale. Viewing these maps side by side highlights differences in shape and distortion caused by each projection.

Overall, this lab demonstrated how projection choice impacts map appearance and reinforced the importance of selecting an appropriate coordinate system for both analysis and presentation.
