Collecting Donations

IJM College Chapter Donation Page

This year, we are moving away from Kindful and instead using an IJM platform dedicated to college chapter donations. You can present this website as a QR code at your fundraisers for people to donate directly to your chapter’s fundraising page. This is to be the primary means for collecting donations.

Venmo Use Policy

If your chapter would like to use Venmo to facilitate fundraising, you are required to work in accordance with the following policy:
Who: Only the chapter president may use their Venmo account for a chapter’s fundraiser.
*Exception: If your student organization maintains a bank account through your school, please let us know. Your chapter may use an official student organization Venmo account to fundraise in accordance with your school’s policies. The below policy is for instances where a personal Venmo account is used for a chapter.
At least 48 hours before the start of the fundraiser, the president should:
Change the Venmo account’s name to their IJM chapter’s name
Change the account profile picture to an IJM logo
Empty their Venmo account of funds by transferring funds to an existing bank account
No more than 24 hours after the end of the fundraiser, the president should:
Deposit the funds into their bank account and donate the total amount to their IJM chapter donation page.
Fill out the which will require a screenshot of 1) their empty Venmo account before the fundraiser, 2) their Venmo transactions from/after the fundraiser, and 3) their IJM Donor Drive donation receipt. This will help us confirm the amount donated through Venmo matches the amount transferred to the IJM donor drive page: ​

Mailing in Check Donations

If you receive check donations directly to IJM, email with the information of the donation (donor, school, president name and email, amount) so that it can be added to your fundraising page. Please then send the funds to the following address:

Write the return address clearly so that IJM can accurately record where the donation came from:

Include a note with every mailed in donation package for IJM’s documentation: Your college name, the title and date of the fundraiser, your chapter president’s name and email address, and the total money raised (total in package).

Handling Cash Donations

If your campus has student organization policies regarding cash donations, please follow those carefully (e.g. using a locked cash box for fundraising events). In some cases, you may deposit cash donations into a school’s student organization account or bank account and then send the funds to IJM digitally or by mailing in a check.
Otherwise, you may mail cash directly to IJM by following the instructions above under “Mailing in Check Donations.” Be sure to send an email to with the information specified above, as well as including the described note in your package.
