Chapter III

Summary of “The Initial Assumptions of Post Humean Philosophy”

This part of the book wants to find a better way to understand how we think, how things cause other things to happen, and what is real. It says that the old way of thinking about these things, from the Greeks and Middle Ages, is not good enough.
Here’s the plan:
Look closely at ourselves and the world: We need to pay close attention to what we see happening around us and to ourselves.
Don’t jump to conclusions: It’s easy to misinterpret what we see, so we need to be careful not to jump to conclusions.
Find a better explanation: Once we have a good understanding of what we’re seeing, we can start to develop a better explanation for how things work.
...the rest to follow, I’ve been rate-limited by the API and need to wait a bit until I can run the rest.
