Podcast Curation Checklist

Please use this document as a Checklist and for Troubleshooting. We are positive that:

Most Text2Sync problems are solvable by following these steps

If you follow each time the listed steps before publishing, you’ll do a good curation

Checklist before pasting into T2S

I’ve:

Prioritized the most recent podcast episode so listeners can stay up to date.

Replaced each Speaker name with the simple code <<Jane Brown>> and <<generic>> for Unnamed Speaker(s).

Inserted <<generic>> and always switched on the red Advertisement toggle switch before a block of Advertisement

Formatted names correctly (not all capitalized) and always repeated the full name: <<Jane Brown>> (not <<JANE BROWN>> or <<Brown>>)

Deleted any inaudible speech in the text using the Find & Replace tool.

Copied the Advertisement(s) at the beginning and at the end of the AI-generated text back to my Editor

Been aware the first Advertisement can appear any time within the first 3 minutes or so.

Double checked that no code follows another piece of code, like this: <<Jane Brown>><<generic>> and no comma precedes or follows a piece of code like this ,<<Jane Brown>>,

Deleted any Title I may have added to the G drive doc, and pasted only the body of my episode transcript into the T2S box

Ticked ‘Tag Speakers’ (on the ‘Replace Transcript’ box) before I sync.

Been patient while the sync is happening, it could take 2 to 10 minutes!

Checklist before PUBLISHING

I’ve:

Re-tagged each Speaker to Wikipedia when entities are available (speakers listed on the right-hand panel)

Tagged Speakers within the text every time, both when named by full name (Jane Brown) or by either the First (Jane) or Last (Brown) names.

Removed or corrected all erroneous Wikipedia tags already present in the text.

Added the following necessary tags – when available in Wikipedia:

name of podcast + podcast publisher

any key words from the Title, main topics and additional entities that might help with podcast search (3-5 max)

Followed the Musixmatch guidelines carefully to transcribe any titled songs that appear in the text

Checked that everything looks good and then Published!

Filled and submitted the form after publishing (including the link to the show just curated).

G-Drive

I’ve:

Saved my working document into the

G-drive⁠

Moved my file to

Done⁠

after submitting my episode and forms

Titled my document using this format “show name yy.mm.dd Episode name”

Understood this is what actually keeps all our files in order (not creating new folders)
