📸 WEEKLY RECAP

Best Practices 🔑

Sunrise Icon.png

Post early

Research indicates 12pm - 3pm is the best time to post. Engagement is higher later on (especially with our audience) around 4pm-7pm but posting a few hours before that is actually optimal because posts take some time to gain traction & engagement so hitting that critical threshold before/when the engagement peaks is best.

REPETITION.

Post at the same time every day. Follow a schedule and stick to it. pPeople are habitual, they’ll come to expect the posts and click instinctively. Plus, this helps you stay organized

Get events on Poppin ahead of time
3-5+ days before the event get it set up on the app and start promoting it (if it’s quality event enough to highlight)
Events posted 1-week+ in advance get up to 5x more RSVPs and views than the same event posted the day of

SCRAPING

💡 Student move reps

→ Advertise on story $20 to whoever sends in a flyer/move for this weekend/tonight → pin each person who sends in a quality move → keep hitting them up every week for moves → Eventually make a gc with all of them and have everyone send moves in every Thur/Fri/Sat night
Bonus Addition: Make a specialized gc with your friends and hit them up to see what’s going on

💡 Flyers around campus

Wherever you are on/around campus, whenever you see a flyer that could be an event, stop and go check out. If it’s relevant, take a photo and scrape it right then and there in a few seconds

💡 Every time you are on the IG and see a post about an event, immediately stop, like it, comment, click on the profile — interact with it and then DM it to yourself. Keep that DM pinned at the top of your inbox and that way you save it for later to scrape. Makes things easy for yourself. And more importantly, this trains the Instagram algorithm to start literally spoon-feeding you events everytime you open the app (takes around a couple weeks for it to start working in a big way)

PROMOTING

💡 The ‘Story Series’

→ For solid events where we want it to get a lot of RSVPs, always post 2 stories about it when you promote — minimum → This follow-up story practice is the #1 most simple factor to promote effectively. if nothing else, do follow-up stories
Bonus: The story sandwich. Post 1 story hyping the event up, then the main post with the flyer, CTA etc, then a follow-up story highlighting a specific perk/marketing angle of the event, also including the CTA again (RSVP link) to hammer it in ⭐ For events that are on the app, you should aim to story-post them at least 3 separate times (a story series counts as 1) before the event: first one Tuesday, then again Thur, then again on Fri the night of

💡 Add Commentary

Don’t just post the flyer mindlessly like an NPC, always add some text to it (refer to our brand guidelines for the design b/c that matters too). Even just ‘Tonight 💃makes a world’s difference. Mention an event tag — some attribute of the event that sells it to people: 18+, Free, 400 people going already, 5 min from campus, house party, etc etc. SELL IT LIKE IT’S YOUR OWN.
