The Athletic | Installing iOS app on Zelus

If you have access to an iPhone or iPad, it is easiest to test on those devices. However, if you don’t have access to those devices and would like to test using NYT’s internal Zelus simulator, you can follow these instructions.

Please note that you must be on a M1 machine (aka "Apple Silicon").

Pull down theathletic-ios.app.zip from

the TA builds folder on gdrive⁠

, put it in your home folder

If it doesn’t automatically decompress and become theathletic-ios.app, then double click it

Open a simulator (launch any app using Zelus)

Do this in Terminal:

xcrun simctl install booted ~/theathletic-ios.app
