Create a PNG or JPG of a map, allows for overlays!
Static images are featured prominently throughout this doc in large part because they are the only way to add overlays to a map within Coda. Position is a required parameter that determines the field of view for the image. “center” gives you the most granular control, but “auto” is the quicker and easier if you are making use of overlays. Use “bounding box” as an alternative to lat/lon/zoom.
There are 3 kinds of overlays, allowing you to add geoJson/markers/paths to your images. You may want to use a tool like the embedded
editor for geoJson creation, this formula accepts a raw stringified object containing the feature for these overlays. Note that oversized geoJson is a common reason this formula will fail! Marker and Path overlays take either a single overlay or a list of overlays...the provided MarkerOverlay() and PathOverlay() formulas make working with these a breeze.
