The Brain Behind Ren

Ren is an AI chatbot, uniquely tailored for people leaders, equipped with specialized knowledge from sources like Refound and the book Good Authority.

Ren is an AI chatbot built upon OpenAI's language model (GPT-4), but with specific enhancements tailored for people leaders. It's not just a generalized AI but has been fine-tuned using specific training materials, making it more contextually relevant for leadership coaching.

Firstly, Ren has been enriched with the curriculum of Refound and the book Good Authority. We've used these sources to construct a vector database - think of this as Ren's own knowledge reservoir. Through a technical process known as retrieval-augmented generation, Ren can access this database to bring up relevant pieces of advice or insights, based on the user's queries or conversation context.

In addition to this specialized knowledge, Ren's interaction style has also been carefully shaped. We've used a technique called "prompt engineering" to guide how Ren behaves during conversations. This isn't just about what Ren knows, but how it communicates that knowledge.

Furthermore, Ren has been trained on thousands of conversations to help it understand what constitutes a successful coaching interaction. The goal here is to make Ren not just a dispenser of knowledge, but a virtual coach that can facilitate insightful and effective dialogue. It learns from examples of both successful and unsuccessful conversations, improving its understanding over time.

These enhancements together differentiate Ren from a standard AI chatbot, allowing it to provide more specialized, relevant and insightful guidance for new managers.
