My relationship with my family
For the longest time, I’ve been sharing what I’m up to with my family — I’ve never really had to come out of any closet because I was sharing my development as it was happening, more or less.
I’m very close to my siblings, although we don’t see each other in person that often these days.
In 2020, I spent multiple months with my maternal grandparents to help my grandmother help my grandfather given ze had significant of health problems.
Sense of humor
Not sure how to describe it. Also not sure what’s universal versus particular about me. I love making exaggerated caricatures of ideologies, notably my own or even playing an exaggeration / parody of my own self, or of various philosophies and their implications. For example, I had fun pretending to be maximally short-termist or pretending to try to prove I had free will. I also like roleplaying minds that are different from my own. I like some form of absurdism. I like making clever references. I like some form of dark humor, but I still have a threshold. My favorite comedian is
I’m very principled and prosocial, and high integrity.
Sport skills
I did many sports in elementary school and high school; I’ve been on official teams for: taekwondo, swimming, triathlons, volleyball, football, soccer, hockey, alpin ski, biathlon, wakeboard, water skiing. I like trying different things as you can see; the one I specialized in the most was taekwondo — I ended up 3rd in the world, 2nd degree black belt, judge & referee, as well as assistant professor. As an adult I’ve done less sport, but I’ve mostly done biking, running, swimming, and gym.
Creative talents
I’ve written a bunch of unfinished unpublished fiction stories. You can see some of my published short films and short fiction here:
. I like learning languages, constructed and natural, signed and spoken; I also love creating them. I pay attention to business opportunities so will come with creative solutions to problems I notice.
Musical talents
23andMe tells me I can hear pitch, and it does seem like I can, but I’ve never really developed that skil. I did 1 year of guitar lesson when I was young (maybe like 13 years old), and performed in front of hundreds of people, but it wasn’t really good — I have the video somewhere. I did 2 (or maybe 3?) years of singing lessons when I was even younger, and was quoted 3 (the worse score out of 3) for most of the time, except at the end I got quoted 2. I’m a bad singer. My father is great, but ze’s the only one in the family ☺
