Release Notes Version 2.24
Executive Summary:
In this release (2.24), we continue to maintain our 3-week release velocity, in order to support our clients, Ops teams and sales requests.
In this release, we created major enhancements around clip scrubbing, providing capabilities to trim start/end points of clips at a sub-second/frame level, and improved our clip rating assignment and filtering capabilities.
We also improved our quick highlights section, adding more control around transitions, JSON export and timeline preview features.
We also implemented a queue logic to send requests to the AI server, in order to reduce dashboard crashes/downtime.
We continue to keep optimizing our Ops workflow by adding refresh buttons to update the UI in multiple sections (in case of clip addition/edit/deletion) and running improvements around SRT stream format handling, CMS webhook handling, archive handling, and showing custom tags on filters among others.
I would like to thank the engineering (dev/QA), AI and program teams for all their efforts and acknowledge the continued guidance from our leadership in making our releases successful.
Key Outcomes
For a comprehensive list of changes, refer to the '' section.
Major Features
Preview and frame level adjustments when cutting and trimming a clip. Ability to view clip rating on thumbnails. Ability to filter clips based on ratings (i.e. we can now filter clips across multiple rating values). Ability to see filtered events and player counts based on rating criteria applied in filter. Ability to selectively add transitions on clips when creating a highlight. Ability to export highlight JSON metadata (both at a highlight clip level and at a highlight level). Ability to indicate the active clip (in timeline) when previewing a highlight. Queue implementation to process requests (such as auto-flip) to AI server; this will reduce chances of dashboard crashing; but may increase TAT in some cases, since requests now go through a queue Minor Features
Refresh buttons added on UI Clip tagging page (edit-clip) Social media & CMS publishing Ability to publish on LinkedIn Ability to define CMS webhook in settings page Ability to define stream bitrate for SRT format when adding a new stream Ops workflow enhancements Improvements to archive section (separate sections for across all streams and within a stream) Clips that have aspect ratio converted do not show up in filter pane until they have been generated Custom tags (defined in settings page by sport) now show up on filter pane Videos automatically start playing when the quick highlight page is opened Restriction added where auto-flip cannot be done for clips over 2 mins in duration Speech to text for event tagging on edit-clips page (beta feature)
Appendix/Known Issues
Clip rating assignment/filtering is not currently enabled for basketball. Skip transition functionality on highlights page works with clips added to timeline (i.e. without bumper/graphic or additional editing functionalities). Download clips will not work on copied stream. Telegram/LinkedIn platforms have size limitations during upload, telegram occasionally throws errors (this would need further UAT). Text to speech (beta feature) Does not currently work for basketball. Output needs to be tested further for improvement. Appendix/Build Verification
Build verification responsibility lies with Shyam Vyas (VP, Engineering) and Shubham Patel (QA).
Thank you for your continued support and collaboration in making this release a success.
