Each new version needs to be published to a specific output. Outputs group multiple versions, and a task can have several outputs. For example, for a modeling task, we can have one output for a main high-poly 3D model and another for a low-poly version of this model. When creating new outputs, you need to define the output type, such as model, image, or animation. The output type is especially useful for grouping or filtering outputs by specific types. Additionally, these types are used in third-party software integrations. Supported software like Maya or Nuke can handle specific output types, allowing us to easily open, import, or publish files directly from a supported application.
Output grouping
Let’s open the Version view. Here, we can see that each version has an attribute called “Output Type.” By dragging and dropping the “Output Type” above the table, we can easily group and organize every output based on its type.
