A lot goes into an interview, and we are so excited you’re taking the time to meet with the team here! We want to learn as much as possible about you during this process, and the following resources will help guide you in this process.
Best of luck! Superhuman Recruiting team 🙌

General Tips

Communication is critical to us and something we consider during the interview process. Think about the audience and the level of information we have requested. For example, should you provide an overview or a deep technical explanation of a project?
We may ask questions about projects you worked on in the past. We recommend creating a list of recent and complex projects as a refresher before the interview. Specify which aspects of a project you worked on specifically and which parts were handled by the team.
Be concise and to the point. If you want to share more or aren’t sure if the key idea was understood, ask the interviewer. Consider using the when describing projects you worked on.
You can refer to documentation during the interview—after all, we do that regularly at work. However, you'll have more time to complete the task if you're familiar with the basics of the language, such as object syntax, primitive types, basic lists, array types, and sorting functions.

Interviewing remotely

Operating as a remote (Superhuman Mail) / hybrid (Superhuman) company, we conduct our interviews remotely over Zoom and use collaboration tools such as Google Docs.
Tips for Zoom:
Sometimes pictures are clearer than words. You can use the “Whiteboard” option in Zoom's “Share Screen” feature.

Below are a few things to check off the list in preparation!

You have a quiet space and reliable Wi-Fi for the interview.
(A noisy cafe might not be the best choice.)
Check that you have your interview schedule & Zoom links
(If this is your first time presenting on Zoom, you will have to grant browser permission to record in order to screen share.)
Water, coffee/tea, and snacks to stay hydrated and energized
(Don’t worry; we’ve included breaks in your schedule! Let your interviewer know if you need a bathroom break.)

What to do if.. 🤔

What If
Then
My interviewer isn’t on the Zoom call
Give your interviewer 5 minutes, they might be running late from another meeting that ran over 😅
Reach out to the recruiting coordinator and let them know; they can quickly reach out to the interviewer!
I can’t connect to Zoom
Troubleshoot if you can:
Check that you have the correct Zoom link
Restart Zoom
If the audio is not working, try to call into Zoom using Zoom's phone feature instead of internet audio
If it's still not working out, reach out to the recruiting coordinator to figure out a solve!
I can’t make my interview
Reach out to the recruiting coordinator that scheduled you to let them know! Keep the team posted on best days/time to reschedule.
