The art of making small talk

Chit-chat - conversation about things that are not important
Pointless - having no purpose; not worth doing
Meaningful - serious and important
Conversation - an informal talk involving a small group of people or only two; the activity of talking in this way
Establish - to start having a relationship, especially a formal one, with another person, group or country
Introduce - to tell two or more people who have not met before what each other’s names are; to tell somebody what your name is
Welcome - to say hello to somebody in a friendly way when they arrive somewhere
Familiar - well known to you; often seen or heard and therefore easy to recognize
Interaction - communicating with somebody, especially while you work, play or spend time with them
