Feedback for Inna M

06.08.2021

Thank you for attending our Smart Wars#4 quiz! We hope you’ve enjoyed it and can’t wait to see you again.

Do not think that’s all! We have prepared feedback on the speaking skills you demonstrated during the game.

We’ve noticed that you actively participated in the team discussions and willingly answered Gary’s questions. That means that you are not afraid of speaking English in real life!
It’s great that you always constructed full sentences. There are some advice how to make them more natural:
When you talk about the game you played last week, use Past Simple Tense. We use this tense when we talk about the completed actions in the exact time in the past. So just say It was my first experience playing this game.
When you want to say that you join the game for the second time you can use phrases like
‘take part in’
or
‘participate in’.
The correct sentence is “It’s the second time I
take part/participate
in Smart Wars”.
We are used to making long sentences in Russian. The good news is that we don’t need to do it English. Making shorter sentences can help you to avoid some mistakes. You’ve said “I like this very interesting” — this is not entirely correct because you haven’t named the thing you like and what is interesting. You should divide your sentence into two small ones: “I like it” and “It is very interesting”.

Win both in games and in language learning!

Thank you for attending Mafia with Gary! We hope you’ve enjoyed it and can’t wait to see you again.

We are glad that you improve your language skills every day and take an active part in the games!

Here is some advice that will help you to master your English:

When Gary asks you “What did you see last night?” you should answer using Past Simple (V2/ Ved) → I
see
saw
a dog., because the action happened at a definite time in the past (last night).
There is a phrase that we use to talk about dreams — I had a dream. If you want to describe exactly what you have seen, you can say
I saw something in a dream
I saw flowers in a dream.
Try to use the verb
have
with the pronoun
I
I
has
have two children
. You can check the rule of using the verb to Have, to learn the difference.
You can also check and practise the pronunciation of the word automobile /ˈɔː.tə.mə.biːl/.

We hope that our advice is useful for you!

Thank you for attending Mafia with Gary! We hope you’ve enjoyed it and can’t wait to see you again.

While speaking:

you controlled your speech and carefully picked the words
you tended to create full sentences

We’ve prepared a few recommendations that can help to master your English:

Use the set expression ‘have dinner’ to talk about eating your evening meal — We
was
had
dinner together.
Check the pronunciation of the Past simple form of the verb
sleep — slept /slept/

We hope that our advice is useful for you!
