LOABOWA kind initiated a continental coalition of African activists from across the continent and various environmental movements. Borrowing from the ‘decentralist’ culture, the group’s unity of purpose is discerned through their actions, and not through organizational identity. Through their advocacy as a group, and by the agency of LOABOWA kind, the coalition of activists started a petition (see below). This petitioning, in the form an open letter to the AU and its leadership, was a call for better environmental governance on the continent.
