Meet your instructor, Caitlyn

Caitlyn-Lubas-scaled-e1585793009612.jpg
My first job out of college was being a Product Specialist at Instagram on the Stories team. This hybrid role sat between the product management and user research functions, with the mission of “being the voice of the user on a product team.” I worked closely with multiple PMs and User Researchers and provided real-time user feedback about new product or feature usage trends, community sentiment, and user feedback, which all helped the Instagram Stories product teams build the most user-centric roadmaps possible to fulfill the jobs-to-be-done of our users uncovered through latent behaviors.
I recently left this role at IG - though I absolutely loved my team and my experience there! - to pursue entrepreneurship full time. I’m currently building a product called womo, which will be a platform that connects travel experts and locals with people planning a trip for authentic, personalized (wo)rd of (mo)uth recommendations
I am super passionate about mentorship and paying it forward to the next generation of tech professionals! I have mentored over 400 students in the past 1.5 years and thoroughly enjoy every single coffee chat, phone call, and email I get asking about career advice. I am an absolute user research / psychology nerd and am fascinated by this work - would love to share my skills and passions with aspiring PMs/UXRs!
