Chapter: 15. The Solar System

The Sun: The star which is closest to the Earth.
The Moon: A natural satellite of the Earth.
Solar system: The Sun and its family of eight planets, their satellites and also pieces of rocks, dust and gases form the solar system.
Planets: A heavenly body that travels around the Sun in a fixed path.
Heavenly bodies: Natural objects such as the Sun, the Moon and the stars.
The Earth: A living planet, also known as the blue planet.
Stars: Heavenly bodies that have their own light and are made of hot gases.
Satellites: An object that goes around a planet.
Orbit: The fixed path followed by the planets to go around the Sun.
Pole Star (North Star): The brightest star in the sky in the northern part, by which one can easily find other directions.
Craters: Large pits that may be noticed on the surface of the moon.
Galaxy: A group of thousands of stars.
Milky Way galaxy: The galaxy to which our solar system belongs.
Constellations: Groups of stars that form a pattern in the sky.
Artificial (satellite): Man-made.
