Architecture: The art of making buildings.
Heritage: Buildings and practices of great value that have been passed down from older generations.
UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites: An area which has been officially recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
Monuments: Beautiful buildings built by ancestors.
Diverse: Different.
Ancestors: People in your family who lived a long time ago.
Material heritage: Like buildings, coins, paintings, books, clothes.
Non-material heritage: Like music, customs, dance, language, religion, science and technology.
Natural heritage: Like mountains, rivers, lakes, deserts, wildlife and forests.
Buddhists: The followers of Gautam Buddha.
Legendary: Something mentioned in stories from ancient times.
Gopurams: Four gateway towers of the Meenakshi Temple, decorated with sculptures of gods, animals, and legendary creatures.
