Chapter: 09. Safety On The Road

Safety rules: Guidelines or instructions that help you stay safe and avoid danger.
First aid box: A special container filled with basic medical supplies to help with minor injuries.
First aid: The immediate help given to an injured person before the arrival of a doctor.
Traffic signs: Symbols and messages placed on the road to guide drivers and pedestrians and ensure safety.
Fatal: Causing death.
Pedestrian: A person walking rather than travelling in a vehicle.
Traffic Light (Red): Means ‘stop’.
Traffic Light (Yellow): Means ‘wait and look till it is green’.
Traffic Light (Green): Means ‘go’.
Zebra crossing: A marked area on the road with black and white stripes where pedestrians can cross safely.
Footpath: A path, usually at the side of a road, specifically for people to walk on.
Star of Life: An emergency medical symbol used to represent medical services all over the world.
Cold mix technology: A unique method used for constructing ‘Green’ roads in an environmentally friendly way.
