Chapter: 05. Telling Time

Time: The ongoing sequence of events from past through present to future.
West: The direction opposite to where the Sun rises, where the Sun sets.
Month: A period of about four weeks, usually with 30 to 31 days (February has 28 or 29 days).
Sundial: A simple device used in olden days to tell the time of day by looking at shadows.
Year: A period of twelve months, consisting of 365 days.
Hours: A unit of time; there are 24 hours in a day.
Leap year: A year that occurs once every four years, having 366 days instead of 365.
Minutes: A unit of time; 60 minutes make one hour.
Calendar: A chart or series of pages that shows us the months, weeks, and days in a year.
East: The direction where the Sun always rises.
Seconds: A small unit of time; 60 seconds make one minute.
Timeline: A list of events in the order that they happened, from the earliest date to the latest.
Measure: The extent, quantity, amount, or degree of something.
Dawn: The time before sunrise, when the sky glows in the first light of the day.
