Chapter: 01. Our Families

Nuclear family: A family made up of a mother, a father, and their children.
Family: A group of people who are related to each other, especially parents and their children, living together and providing love, support, and care.
Sibling: A brother or a sister.
Joint family: A family in which many members (grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts, cousins) stay together in one house.
Responsibility: Duties which people are required to do as part of a role or job.
Marriage: A happy time for the family when all members gather to celebrate.
Single-parent family: A family made up of one parent and that person’s child or children.
Homemaker: A mother or father who stays at home to take care of the family.
Generations: The people in a family born and living during the same time.
Caregiver: A family member or paid helper who regularly looks after a child or a sick, elderly, or disabled person.
Crèche: A place where babies and small children are taken care of while their parents are working, studying, or are going somewhere.
Adopt: To take someone else’s child and care for him or her as one’s own.
Outfits: Dresses or sets of clothes.
