E. Answer these questions. 10. Describe how we measure time. * We measure time in hours, minutes, and seconds. 60 seconds make one minute, and 60 minutes make one hour. There are 24 hours in a day. Clocks and watches have hands (minute and hour hands) or digital displays to show the time. 11. What things were used to tell the time before the clock was invented? * Before the clock was invented, people used sundials (shadow sticks), water clocks, and hourglasses to tell the time. 12. What does a timeline tell us? * A timeline tells us a list of events in the order that they happened, starting with the earliest date and ending with the latest. It helps us know the dates of events and the time between two or more events. 13. How does a calendar help us? * A calendar helps us by showing the months, weeks, and days in a year. It allows us to organize our schedules, remember important dates like birthdays and holidays, and plan for future events.
