A pedestrian is a person who is walking rather than traveling in a vehicle.
A “No U-turn” traffic sign means that drivers are not allowed to make a U-turn (turn completely around to go in the opposite direction) at that location.
Two items you would find inside a first aid box are antiseptic lotion and sterile gauze. (Other valid answers: crepe bandage, thermometer, medicated tape, cotton pads, cream for minor burns, antiseptic cream).
If someone is stung by an insect, you should wash the affected area with lime water (or soap and water, then apply a cold compress).
Cold mix technology is a unique method used for constructing ‘Green’ roads in India, which is more environmentally friendly than traditional road-building methods.

Section E: Diagram-Based Questions (5 Marks)

The boy is running onto the street without looking, trying to chase a ball.
The safety rule the boy is breaking is “Do not run or play on the road.”
A dangerous outcome of this action could be getting hit by the approaching car, leading to serious injury or a fatal accident.

Section F: Long Answer Questions (7 Marks)

If your friend’s knee is bleeding, first, ensure you don’t crowd around them and stay calm. Then, wash your hands thoroughly to prevent germs from spreading. Gently wash the cut on their knee with clean water to remove any dirt. Apply a small amount of antiseptic cream on some cotton wool, place it directly over the wound, and then secure the area with a bandage to stop the bleeding. Make sure your friend remains calm while you do this and wait for an adult or doctor to arrive.
Traffic lights and traffic symbols are very important for everyone on the road because they help manage the flow of vehicles and pedestrians smoothly. Traffic lights direct when to stop, wait, or go, preventing collisions at intersections. Traffic symbols provide quick visual warnings and instructions, such as ‘School Ahead’ or ‘No U-turn,’ ensuring drivers are aware of specific conditions or prohibitions. Together, they create a universal language of safety, promoting discipline and preventing accidents for both drivers and pedestrians.
