This group includes doctors, nurses, health workers, cleaners, and police officers. They put their own health at risk to provide medical care, maintain hygiene, and ensure public order amidst widespread disease. We should profoundly respect them because their selfless dedication and bravery are vital in combating the crisis and protecting societal well-being.

Dignity of Labour means showing respect for all kinds of work, regardless of the job type. It emphasizes that no profession is less important than another, as every job contributes significantly to the community’s well-being. People work hard to earn money to support their families and fulfill their needs, making their efforts valuable. Practicing dignity of labour means treating every worker equally and with respect, fostering a harmonious and appreciative society.

Doctors play a vital role by looking after us when we are sick. They are highly trained to treat ill people, diagnose ailments, and prescribe the necessary medicines to help patients recover. Firefighters are equally significant as they protect homes and lives by putting out fires. They arrive in fire engines, utilizing water, hose pipes, or chemicals to extinguish blazes. Both professions are crucial for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all community members.

The chapter highlights the critical importance of education for children, specifically mentioning a law in India. This law states that children below 14 years of age are not permitted to work to earn money. Instead, it is mandatory for them to attend school and study from the ages of 6 to 14. This legislation ensures that children receive a proper education, which is crucial for their development and future opportunities. It prioritizes learning over child labor, aiming to provide a foundational period for growth and skill acquisition.
