Skilled professionals, like doctors or engineers, study for many years to become experts, while skilled workers, like masons or plumbers, learn their work through practice and by learning from others.
A community refers to all the people who live in a particular area, country, or region, when talked about as a group.
A traffic police officer’s main role is to direct and control traffic flow to ensure safety and order on the roads.
Soldiers protect the country from enemies and are trained to fight and guard, ensuring peace and safety within the community.
Farmers prepare the land, plant the crops, care for them throughout their growth, and finally harvest them.
‘Vets’ is a short term for veterinarians, who are animal doctors responsible for treating sick animals.
The overall message is that no job is less important than any other, and we must treat every worker equally and with respect, which is known as dignity of labour.
Individuals typically choose their work based on what they like to do and what they are capable of doing.
People work to earn money, which helps them feed their families and pay for all the necessary things they need for their daily lives.
Besides furniture, a carpenter also makes wooden items like doors and windows for homes and buildings.
The law in India ensures that children below 14 years are not allowed to work, making it compulsory for them to study from the age of 6 to 14, thereby protecting their right to education.
Electricians fix fans and lights and repair electrical wires, ensuring that homes and buildings have proper lighting and functioning electrical systems.
The term ‘regulates’ means to control an activity or process by means of rules.
Farmers contribute by growing food, and cleaners help by managing waste and keeping public spaces tidy.
