Section D: Explanation of Terms

Adaptability: Adaptability is the ability to adjust to new conditions or situations effectively, helping us cope with changes in life.
Tradition: A tradition is a custom or belief that has existed for a long time, often passed down through generations.
Facilities: Facilities refer to buildings, services, or things that are provided for a particular purpose, like a school having a library or playground.

Section E: Short Answer Questions

You might find a park, a school, a hospital, or a market in your neighbourhood.
Common changes in a neighbourhood include old neighbours moving away and new ones moving in, or roads being widened and new buildings being constructed.
Compared to grandparents’ time, free time activities have changed significantly because today children can play games on computers or mobile phones, which did not exist then.
When moving to a new class each year, you face changes like a new classroom, different teachers, learning new subjects, and making new friends.
It is important to adjust to changes in life because changes are necessary for progress and growth, helping us to adapt to different situations as we grow up.

Section F: Diagram-Based Question

The school on the left uses a blackboard, while the one on the right uses a smartboard. The school on the left has wooden benches, whereas the one on the right has individual desks.
These differences reflect how learning methods have changed from traditional ways to modern approaches. The smartboard and tablets show the integration of new technology into education, making learning more interactive and advanced compared to older methods.

Section G: Long Answer Questions

As a part of growth and development, various aspects of people’s lives undergo significant changes. Our lifestyle evolves, moving towards more modern ways of living. Food habits change with the introduction of new ingredients and cooking styles. The clothes we wear also transform, with different fashion trends and materials becoming popular over time. Even the design and structure of our houses change, incorporating new technologies and styles, all of which reflect societal progress.
Schools have changed significantly over time, becoming larger and offering more facilities than in the past. Annually, students experience changes like new classrooms, different teachers, and new subjects as part of growing up. Historically, like in ancient Indian gurukuls, pupils lived with their gurus to receive education. Now, teaching methods have evolved greatly, with modern schools widely using new learning aids such as computers, smartboards, and tablets, making education more interactive and comprehensive.

Section H: Environmental Awareness

Planting trees is an important action for a neighbourhood’s development because trees contribute to a greener and healthier environment. They help improve air quality, provide shade, and make the neighbourhood more beautiful and pleasant for residents, fostering a sense of community care and growth.
