About Shareback
Shareback is a high-energy, early-stage start-up, moving fast to build a software product that will revolutionise the way teams communicate with their most important stakeholders.
With a need for speed, we are ‘building the rocket as it takes off’ - hustling for initial sales, whilst building the product in parallel. Our team is small and primed for moving fast. If you are looking for a startup that will provide a meaningful, challenging, and exciting experience, Shareback may be the place for you!

Technical Stack
Typescript (everywhere),
Node.js
Nest.js
MongoDB
React
NextJS
Graphql
Have experience with some of our tech stack but not all? That’s ok, we still want to hear from you!

Things that make us a bit different
Speed is our superpower: the startup world is a messy place, so testing and learning at speed is critical to finding success.
Build and buy: we build if it’s faster or gives us a competitive advantage. If it doesn’t, we outsource it because… well, see the point about speed being a superpower.
Think it, test it, build it, own it: engineering is more than building what’s been designed for you. Take the initiative, drive innovation, then bring that insight to life. Once it’s out there, measure and improve. A chance to really OWN the product!

What you will do
Guide product direction: we don’t separate engineering functions from the user so engineering work is product work. You’ll work with anyone and everyone across Shareback to bring new things to life, fast.
Build frontend and backend architecture: Shareback engineers generally own a new feature from the data schema through to the UI. You have the ability to shape the entire user (and developer) experience.
Craft the developer experience you always wished you had: we are a small team with an infrastructure that has grown organically, but intentionally. You’ll be in a position to find opportunities for bettering the developer experience and then craft it as you see fit.

What we’re looking for in an engineer
Product-minded and happy to take responsibilities beyond just writing code.
Have an opinion on the product and can clearly communicate it
Can own large chunks of the product independently
Can effectively work with a cross-functional team
Thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment
Feel comfortable with uncertainty and is able to respond to changing priorities
4+ years commercial experience working with NodeJS, Typescript, and (preferably) a frontend framework like React

Benefits
Competitive startup salary
Meaningful equity
Hybrid working model
25 days holiday + bank holidays
Your birthday off
Private health insurance

Interview process
Initial interview (30 min): conducted with one of our engineering team to establish a high-level fit for what both you and Shareback are looking for. We’ll ask a few questions, but please bring yours as well!
Technical interview (60-90 min): focused on understanding how you scope and build new features. We don’t expect you to conduct a homework assignment, but rather would like to walk through something you’ve worked on before.
Culture interview (60 mins): we’ll spend some time with you to better understand how you work alongside a diverse set of individuals. How do you collaborate, what is important to you and your career goals, where you‘d like to end up long-term, and how we might be able to contribute to that effort.
Offer: if we feel we would be a good fit for you, we’ll prepare and discuss an offer with you to make sure we answer all of your questions.
