You have arrived! We’re so excited to welcome you to Netflix and to the EMEA AV Production team. We know you are eager to dive in, so let’s kick things off by setting some expectations about your onboarding experience.
At Netflix, onboarding is not a singular, one-time event – it’s a journey that will go on for months. The onboarding plan we’ve created will help you navigate Netflix, gauge if you are heading in the right direction, and set expectations for reaching milestones.
Throughout this journey, let’s keep communication flowing and discuss how you are progressing - don’t be shy about asking for additional context or resources. During your syncs with your Onboarding Buddy and Manager, share your thoughts about the speed at which you’re moving through this process. We are happy to adjust to best accommodate your preferred style of learning (because, as we said earlier, this site & the way it is organised is a suggested layout that can be altered to suit you best). Questions are welcome now, in a week, a month, a year - any time!
One final piece of advice before diving in: this onboarding time is not a time you can get back later. Be mindful of that, because as much as we know you want to roll up your sleeves and get to work with us, we also want you to ease in and build a strong foundation to work off of. Take your time.
Netflix onboarding
In the same way the above animation starts with the Earth and then zooms into the Netflix office in LA, we’re going to spend the next few weeks zooming into your specific role here - we’ll first start with getting you acclimated as a Netflix employee, and we’ll progressively zoom in to share more about the Studio, our organisation, our team, our work, and your role in it.
Netflix has been developing and refining its onboarding program over the past few years - here’s what you can expect:
(that was likely shared with you when you were getting set up with Netflix) you can learn more about the philosophy of onboarding at Netflix and the N.E.W.@Netflix (N.E.W. = New Employee Welcome) program.
provides a handy rundown of each Episode and what it entails. We highly recommend you prioritise these events over other meetings right now.
New Employee College / Capstone
This is usually the final episode of the N.E.W @ Netflix program - it is an event where you and other new Netflix employees gather to receive a first-hand account of the history, culture, and future of Netflix straight from our executive team.
The Employee Landing Page (ELP)
The ELP is a resource that all Netflix employees use to find info about benefits, travel & expenses, company strategy, and more. You can access it via
(and we’ll address again in a later in this section)
Good people & teams to know
Your HR Business Partner (or HRBP) is a great sounding board - they can answer questions and share stories about our culture, coach you around change and growth, and also can support you if an issue arises with your manager or team. To be transparent - your HRBP covers a lot of ground in that they work across many teams so you might not hear from them often - but what is important is that they will always make time when necessary. To see who your HRBP is
) seeks to help employees navigate Netflix by designing and delivering a great employee experience, which empowers our employees to do great work and enables the business to scale. You’ll meet them during company orientation programming, and you’ll continue to leverage them for support as questions arise around benefits, retirement plans, leaves of absence, and other life events.
WeAreNetflix
As a member of Netflix, you’re a Netflix Ambassador! This includes building an understanding of how & when to speak about Netflix-specific activities publicly. WeAreNetflix represents our company’s social media presence (
), but also serves as a reminder that Netflix’s culture is made up of us, its employees. On day one of working for Netflix, you will immediately have access to practically all information that our company tracks -
