Expectations

30 DAYS

Goals
Get used to a new workplace. Let yourself absorb, listen, ask questions, etc. You will shadow
, who currently takes care of the markets you will soon be responsible for.
and will also be available to answer questions and share insights. will setup regular syncs to help guide you through the overall process and understand the need-to-know about the business. will give you a top-level overview of localisation production in EMEA.
Meet your fellow newbie to the AV team who just joined us very recently as our AV Specialist. You will both be attending the same NEC (Netflix Employee College) event on October 22nd in Amsterdam. Along with all new employees in the EMEA region.
Take the time to read and digest the onboarding materials. This is THE most important time to do it, and you don’t really get this time “back” in the way that you may think you would once you’re in the full swing of the role. No question is too small or too silly. Your AV colleagues are all on hand to answer anything!
Get to know the wider team. We are part of the EMEA Regional Marketing team who are mostly all based in Amsterdam with you. Setting up 1:1s and going for lunch together will give you to opportunity to meet everyone and understand at very high-level what they do and how we work together as a regional unit.
Meet your key cross-functional partners in Marketing and the Globalisation teams. They are located in Amsterdam, London, Warsaw and Istanbul so scheduling 1:1 meetings will take up much of your time. These are the teams you will work with the most so get to know them.
Meet our external partners. We work regularly with vendors who fulfil the production of our assets. We’ll introduce you to our centrally dedicated finishing partner, Picture Head London, as well as our centrally dedicated localisation partner, Gong. Joel and Kelly will explain how we work with these partners and what you will be responsible for in your role.
You’ll be attending all of our team meetings and joining Joel in the key country meetings with the CEE (Central & Eastern Europe), MENA (Middle East North Africa), SSA (Sub-Saharan Africa) and TR (Turkey) teams. You will be added to relevant Slack channels and begin to be exposed to the way we operate as a function.
We will start to provide you with a high level overview of Marcomms at Netflix, the lifecycle of an asset, and the various tools and processes we use.

60 DAYS

Goals
By now you are well-incorporated into all of the meetings that an AV Producer should be in and you’ve connected with all of your cross-functional partners.
It’s time to start shadowing other AV Producers on their projects to gain a deeper understanding of how to finish and localise assets across our various workflows and tooling. This will begin to take up more of your time with more practical tasks and thinking.
If you’re feeling confident, you can start to lead some projects independently from start-to-finish. But don’t worry, we’re all on hand to support you every step of the way!
You’ll continue to have weekly 1:1 meetings with Rowen to have the space to discuss your progress and your workload.
You’ll be more exposed to how our Netflix Culture is put into practice. Keep asking questions!

90 DAYS

Goals
By now you’re independently leading projects and becoming familiar enough with our tools that you’re able to pick up the pace. But never hesitate to speak with Rowen about your workload to ensure you’re feeling on top of your projects. You don’t need to impress us by trying to do too much...we hired you for a reason!
If you’re ready, you’ll begin to contribute to wider team discussions about our ways-of-working and how we might improve existing workflows and tooling.
You’ll begin to understand more of the business, the team structures and functions, and what our objectives are as a regional team.
You’ll reflect on your onboarding experience and provide any feedback to AV team so we can make sure we’re always setting up any new hires for success.
