Prefect's Task Library is a growing collection of pre-built tasks you can plug right into your Prefect Flows. The task library's greatest benefit is showcasing the many different data tasks that our users are the experts in, well beyond what the core developers could imagine or have the expertise for.
Since we want to make it easy for you to share what you use Prefect for, this guide is a holistic how-to on how to contribute a task to the task library from your first idea that you want to contribute, through design, development, testing, and opening a pull request.
We absolutely cannot wait to see what you come up with. One of the greatest joys of working with Prefect for me is to learn about all the different technologies people are using in their day to day jobs ー whether they are different types of data stores, specialized predictive modeling software, super domain-specific parsers and analyzers, client libraries for unique hardware or sensors, or something I haven't even seen or heard of yet.
