What makes for a good
theme
purpose?
The purpose of Museums As Progress is to help cultural organizations creative more innovative organizations. A good seasonal purpose will be related to that larger purpose (even if only indirectly).

How to vote
Skim the list below and click the thumbs-up icon to vote for that purpose.
You can choose more than one purpose from the list.
Don’t be afraid to be the only person to vote for a purpose. If it’s on this list, you’re not the only person who is interested in it!
Click the green button below to add a purpose for consideration. Don’t worry about whether it’s “good enough” — You can add comments in the designated column if you’d like to provide more info on the purpose you list.

Question: provide better context/definition?
What makes for a good theme?
Symptoms include one or more of the following:
Personal interest
: ”Oh,
that
sounds like something I’d like to discuss!”
Connective tissue
: ”I just read such-and-such
by so-and-so…
That might be interesting to dig into with others…”
Repetitive thoughts
: “I swear if I have to tell So-And-So at work
one more time
that empathy [theme] isn’t ‘just common sense’, I’m going to scream.”
Opinion death spirals:
You hear yourself saying, “Actually,…” in response to someone else who just said, “Actually…”
Significant other depression:
Your partner responds to your conversations about the topic by messaging their therapist.
