Case representation status should be prominently visible to the User Associating an Attorney as a Participator should be a manual functionality, prolly the investigators will do this manually Ability to find out whether they have an Attorney to represent This should be captured in the case info
Respondent initiates and selects/adds attorney HELMS looks up the Attorney If they are in the system they will be notified If not, they will still be notified via email and asked to sign up HELMS Investigator initiates the notification to the Attorney (System & Email) If Attorney accepts the case, they are requested to submit Letter of representation/ Notice of Appearance If the Letter of representation/ Notice of Appearance is verified, the Attorney will then be added as a Participant
Attorney can email the Notice of Appearance to the Investigator The investigator verifies the Letter of representation/ Notice of Appearance HELMS notifies the Respondent on the case
In legal system, sometimes one document is addressed by two completely different names (ex: Notice of Appearance and Letter of representation are the same)
