This book was absolutely breathtaking. I tolerated poetry in high school, but I don't think ever truly enjoyed it. However, I fell in love with the collection of poems written by the protagonist Xiomara, also known as Poet X. This is a beautiful, honest, heart-wrenching coming-of-age story that I highly recommend reading.
