I am an avid reader who also loves promoting on social media. I love being able to get more eyes onto someone’s work. My speciality in books would be YA and Fantasy, and my specialty in social media is Instagram and TikTok, however I’m open and prepared for any kind of app or to promote any genre.
I recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science in May 2021 from John Carroll University. I am also an international student actively looking for opportunities and experience, both part-time and full-time.
I believe my prior experiences make me fit to execute this role with the highest of decorum. My education is in digital marketing and marketing analytics(market research, web analytics, blogging, social media content and engagement management, transmedia storytelling, etc.) and I have workexperience in administration and marketing. My most recent experience includes creative writing for POPS (The People Ops Society) and blogging for Pangea. At POPS I independently researched topics that help improve company culture and inclusivity and developed innovative ways of presenting these resources. At Pangea I create blogs that are current and relevant to the industry (a focus on Sales/Marketing/ Digital Marketing: due to my prior experience), and that are SEO optimized to help maintain working relationships and improve traffic to the website. I’ve also assisted in creating monthly calendars and developing content for Appolonia City (a real estate company in Ghana), with a focus on customer support (providing guidance, responding to enquiries etc.) As a participant and leader in group work throughout my study, I’ve developed oratory, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. I was elected program leader for my class during my masters and used this position to represent the interests of my course mates by communicating our challenges/sentiments to my professor, effectively persuading him to change his lecture policy. I believe my curiosity and desire to learn coupled by my prior experiences has equipped me with the necessary skills that make me fit to execute this role.
I have been working in social media management for over three years now and have had the opportunity to manage the accounts of professional athletes, college sports teams, major cosmetics brands, and lifestyle apps. My goal with social media is to create good content that's engaging, entertaining, informative, and magnifies the uniqueness of your brand with the main focus being to build a community around the account.
Hello! I am a student at the Pratt Institute studying design and entrepreneurship, and I would be so honored to take on this job. I am experienced in keeping up with social media trends, photoshop, and forecasting upcoming trends. Thank you so much for your consideration and I hope to hear from you!
I have always been passionate about books. I have been working towards it by contributing my knowledge to the Tech news magazine of my university. I am part of the editing and marketing team. So I know how a content can be published and promoted. This skill will aid me in this job specification.
I saw this listing and immediately knew I had to apply! I’m an avid reader and writer, and I’d love the opportunity to work in social media marketing! I have experience managing various social media accounts (I run my own small business on the side), and enjoy creating content and designing visuals.
This job sounds like previous work I have done and I think I would be a great fit! I am great at researching and compiling lists of information, a great communicator, and a self-starter.
My passion is to help storytellers and artists get their material to the people who need it most. Working at a digital marketing agency I thought I would have more opportunity to work closely with people who need it with and on projects that really spoke to me and while I may have worked on some really cool projects I have yet to do anything as fulfilling as this. My dream is to use my strategic skills to make sure artists have the best opportunity possible to be seen and heard. With my technical skill and ceaseless passion not only am I well equipped for this job but I also have the will to see it through to the best of my ability.
Hello, I'm Maria. I have previously worked in a local magazine (with their social media and production) and I'm currently a social media manager for a client here in Pangea. I am an avid social media user, including book-tok, so I can easily figure out what the targeted audience will expect from each book and genre. Plus, I know at least 20 accounts or bookstagrams that would love to read and give their opinions on your books. I would have no trouble creating curated, quality content and research bookstores and podcasts (I already have ideas depending on the genre!)
Hello, I have experience working with authors, and with the entertainment industry. Also a solid understanding of story, creative development, and related skills spanning research, networking, social, and management. I’d be happy to work with you and enjoy this work very much. Thank you.
With a personal love for writing and reading, I also bring the professional experience of working with high-profile clientele from Pier59 Studios. At the beginning of this year I began an editorial internship with WAVESWRLD magazine. I hope to bring these skills to the NDP community & help authors succeed.
Greetings from Amsterdam (typically Boston), my name is Sabrina, and I would love to be New Degree Press’ next Publishing Assistant or Social Media Manager for Aspiring Authors.
Hailing from the halls of Imperial College London and IESE Business School, two world renowned universities, as well as working during my undergraduate and postgraduate career in the media, entertainment, retail, and leisure, my ethos in life is to try to build a connected world.
For me, that start, came in writing my own fiction, and later scaling that to understand the greater literary space and the different mediums literature presents itself in.
To give you a brief snapshot of my experience: my career started in the United States, in the greater Boston area, as an undergraduate studying Management with a focus in Global Service Operations and Supply Chain. Here, I got to intern with the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) in their content publishing and marketing operations unit, getting to sink my feet into the space.
From there, while still serving the US market, I’ve gotten to understand the media and entertainment space in the United Kingdom, China, Poland, Argentina, Ireland, Italy, and Spain. These rich experiences allowed me to understand different touchpoints, in different cultures, to scale mass products and services from the startup space all the way to the Fortune 500 space. But, more importantly, honed my understanding of the art of storytelling and how to live and breathe your truth.
If we were to work together, as a Publishing Assistant first (will attach the Social Media Management application in a subsequent proposal), this is how I would approach New Degree Press’ publishing efforts:
1. Chat with you to understand how our authors are currently doing! Understand the stories they’re writing, their truths, and the ways they need support from me.
2. With you and the team, map out a happy-plan-path to: 1) give our authors visibility, 2) to promote these book (planning and strategizing the book launch), 3) continuous engagement (understanding the venues to promote our authors/their books, as well as how to potentially scale global interest), and 4) maintain a healthy pipeline of readers (building that list of conferences, mocks/specs of social activity, etcetera).
3. Take that a step deeper, in understanding the painpoints our authors have, and where they see the visions for their works.
4. Strike the balance by continuously iterating those visions/dreams as they evolve! (What I like to call “aftercare” to all materials/campaign items).
Through my various job, internship, and club experiences, I have knowledge in marketing, booking guest speakers, and planning events/meetings for clubs at CSUN. I have promoted driving packages, experience in customer service, and with reaching out to different organizations.
I am an English and Biology student at Brown University who is extremely interested in this position. Beyond the fact that I would be getting paid to reach out to book stores and connect with authors (wow), I am applying for this role because I believe my background gives me many of the skills I would need in this role. What I bring to the table is experience in marketing, digital savviness, strong organizational skills, and a love of literature. In my previous marketing internship, I assisted with a mailing outreach campaign, wrote copy for the website, and wrote blog posts. This means that I am familiar with CRM management programs and best methods of outreach. I believe these skills will directly translate to this role. From this experience, I hope to gain a glimpse into the world of publishing and the joys and pitfalls of this line of work. Like any other avid reader, I am curious about the processes that bring a certain book onto my shelf. Along with that, I look forward to the connections I will make with authors, reviewers, and local bookstores.
