MCBC 2026 friendly match preparation

Referees (total of 3 persons) Wilson, Kingsley & Ivan (ask MCBC person)

Stay inside the court most of the time (at least one Referee must be there)

Referee needs to be experienced pickleball player and fairly understand the pickleball rules

With court limitations, maximum of 2 referees can be there

Referee is responsible to make sure the play continues smoothly

If there is disagreement on the score (like In/Out, any rules), referees have the final say and could have it re-serve again.

Referee may need to “Call Out” if he/she see player step in the court where the ball did not bounce yet (volley).

Referee will remind players to start the game (can do some warm up before)

Score keepers (total of 2 persons) Ivan, MCBC person

minimum 2 persons - one from RHCCC and one from MCBC

full time outside the court

Announce who next and get persons ready to play (Door keeper to find the player)

Keep the score into score sheet with initials from players on each side after the game

Game & Door keepers / monitors (total of 2 persons) Martin, MCBC one person

minimum 2 persons - one from RHCCC and one from MCBC

may need 1 person on the other side of the court (near washroom) to have people leaving from there as the court will be rotated after the game finishes.

stay outside the court and find the next game players ready to play

Snack preparation Martin & Ivan

Breakfast and snack (from 9am to 12:30pm)

coffee & tea, water, energy bars, banana

Prize

Certificates are good for the church group (MCBC will print them )

Medals are good for the individual score (Kingsley buy it)

MCBC have their own T-shirt

We can use the 40 years BLACK RHCCC T-shirt

There are stock available for purchase if anyone do not have one (discounted of $10 each)

practice round of exercise opportunities depend on the team lead arrangement

March 3, 31 & April 7 for men & women

Team lead can arrange practice outside the church gym time like in UBComplex, WePlay, Gilson, etc...

Backup players (total of 1 to 2 players) Wilson, Kingsley & Andes

in case there is emergency or illness that some one is NOT able to come to that day, we will need to have some contingency plan for player replacement

Notice:

There will be MCBC M. Service & RHCCC Men Group friendly matches games on April 14. There is no OPEN pickleball games for this day but you are welcome to come to support the players.

paddle with name label (full name and not initials) is preferrable

大聲公 large speaker ? No suitable as it close to the chapel which usually being used for other purposes.

Possible to setup TV to show everyone the progress ( Ken will setup the zoom with fast Wifi in the church)

Show the activities inside Gym (direct VIDEO from phone or camera)

Show laptop screen for WHO is playing in the court

Show laptop screen for the current scores completed (show the google sheet spreadsheet result)

On April 14, can we stay behind in the chapel or cafe area for snack and drink, also present the medal ? It could be till 1 pm just in case (and then we can go to lunch with anyone would like to do so)

Ask Patrick if they want to go to LUNCH together

Need better wifi to show the web site link directly to the TV screen or results directly updated to google sheet that can be shown on TV (or directly being seen in anyone phone).

Have DOCTOR or NURSE in place ? print the emergency contact and list while in that DAY (Ken)
