Strategic Planning Meeting

This meeting worked through intentional plans around the Johnson Square Fall Party. Our goal was to rethink the approach for a greater missional impact for Hope City Church, while retaining its presence as a community event.

We are using the CALL method to organize our thoughts and make decisions.

Clarify the work

Use a clear question, or a concise sentence to summarize the event being planned, the problem being solved, or message being communicated.

Align on goals, outcomes, and details

Now that clarity has been established we need to begin working together to align on some key five key components of the work.

Alignment on desired outcomes and measured goals

Alignment on steps to achieve those outcomes and measured goals

Alignment on key constraints surrounding the project

Alignment on available resources to work with on the project

Alignment on specific details happening as part of the project

Launch with a sequence

Solutions and decisions that happened in the the alignment phase require a series of milestones with clear ownership and defined outcomes before launch of the event being planned, the problem being solved, or message being communicated. Here are a few guiding questions to build your sequence.

What checklist items need to be created leading up to launch?

Who are the owners for the items on the checklist?

What does the overall timeline for those items to be accomplished?

What deadlines need to be set as part of the sequence leading to launch?

Learn from what happened

Scheduling a debriefing session allows for intentional learning, identifying areas for improvement, what to subtract, and what to celebrate.

This is a fun fall party for families in the community that connects people to Jesus and Hope City happening Friday October 18th at Johnson Square from 6-8pm.

Connecting in this area is difficult, as a lot of people are go home after work and stay there.

Next Steps

Each staff member is going to have a list of six people to shoulder tap ready for the next staff meeting.

Finalize decisions on all activities happening a the event.

Explore one or two local sponsorships in the Johnson area

Put together a promotion plan
