Introduction


I’m <name> and I’m a user researcher and with me is <name>, and I will guide you through the next 45 to 60 minutes while my colleague takes notes.
We are conducting research on...
[If there’s an observer] As you look at the screen, you will see there is another person on the call, their name is <observers name> and they will be listening in to what we say, but they may not be asking any questions. They are involved in the project, and they are helping me by writing down notes, based on what we discuss.
We’re going to start off with some general questions about yourself. To help with this we may ask you to share your screen if that’s okay.
[Tasks] As you work through the tasks, I’m going to ask you as much as possible so try to think out loud: to say what you’re looking at, what you’re trying to do, and what you’re thinking.
You’re not being evaluated in any way. We’re not looking for any particular answers, and we’re not testing your ability.
We’re interested in all your feedback – positive, negative or neutral. Nothing you say will offend us, so please feel free to be open and honest with your feedback.
Permissions
With your permission, we’d like to take a screen recording and voice recording of the session. This will only be used for our own purpose to check back and ensure we have accurately captured your views and will not be used outside of our team.
If you want to take a break or stop the session at any point, just let me know.
