Joicy Carvalho is a Brazilian coloratura lyrical soprano who has been studying vocal technique for 10 years. In those years Joicy has developed an operatic belcanto repertoire, as well as studying the chamber music and baroque repertoire.
In 2015, she joined the Choir of the Youth Symphony Orchestra of the State of Goiás, and sang as soprano soloist in the Mass no 2 in G major by Franz Schubert (1797 - 1828), conducted by Weber Assis. Participated in the 1st Opera Festival of Goiânia, as soloist in the Operetta “A Noiva do Condutor”, by Noel Rosa (1910 -1937), playing the role of a radio singer. In 2018, she performs with the Youth Symphony Choir of Goiás at ONU in an european tour, singing works from the Brazilian choir repertoire. Joined as a professional singer the section of sopranos in the Choir of the Goiania Symphony Orchestra, where she acquired experience with the choral Symphonic repertoire, and also performed as soloist with the Symphony Orchestra in works such as “Dixit Dominus” and “Messiah” by Georg Friedrich Handel (1685 - 1759).
In 2019 participates in the second Opera Festival of Goiânia in the role of Amahl in the operetta “Amahl and Night Visitors” (Menotti). In 2022, she sung the role of Seraphim in Beethoven's Oratory “Christ on the Mount of Olives”. Performed the L’elisir d’amore by Gaetano Donizetti (1797 - 1848) with the Goiânia Symphony Orchestra and Choir, playing Adina’s role. In the same year, She won the Young Soloist championship of Goiânia.
Joicy graduated in voice from the Federal University of Goiás in 2022. And started her master's degree in vocal performance at Bowling Green State University in 2023.
